Youth Volunteer Program: Unity Gardens

Come out for an evening of giving back to the community.
What better way to enjoy the outdoors! Volunteer as a group at the Unity Garden located at 3701 Prast Blvd, South Bend. The Unity Gardens is a collaborative network of community gardens that originated to increase the availability, awareness, and accessibility of healthy, locally-grown food.
Help plant the garden, weed out unwanted plants, and move soil and mulch around the property. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, close-toed shoes, sunscreen, and gloves, if you have some (if not, you may use the gloves provided by the Unity Garden). Also, bring a refillable water bottle to take out with you into the garden.
This is a great opportunity to spend time with friends outdoors helping out a local non-profit and exploring the property’s nature trails, goats, chickens, and bee hives.
A light snack and a refreshing drink are provided.
*The garden is not currently wheelchair accessible.*
